Two separate teams of Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) have sealed all records of Taulka Municipal Administrations (TMAs) of Khairpur Nathan Shah and Mehar, both taulkas are the constituencies of MPAs Imran Zafar Laghari and Fayaz Ahmed Butt, both are the open supporters of former home minister Dr Zulifqar Mirza.
Reliable sources inside the Anti-Corruption Establishment told Business Recorder on Thursday that this action has been taken on the directives of prior authorities of Sindh government. The teams of Anti-Corruption would call the officers previously posted on important posts in said TMAs to register their statements, some names of officers currently working could also come in the interrogations, sources said.
Earlier, the authorities of Sindh Local Government department had transferred Town Municipal Officers (TMOs) of said taulkas namely Nadir Butt of TMA Mehar and Rafiq Shaikh of TMA Khairpur Nathan Shah and posted new TMOs on the vacant positions that are belonging to other districts of Sindh sources said. Imran Zafar Laghari and Fayaz Ahmed Butt are the MPAs of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP); they have been seen almost at every event of Dr Mirza despite repeated warnings by the hi-ups of PPP Sindh chapter. The political circles within the PPP are considering this move as action of violation of party policy against said MPAs.
Sources said that 101 TMAs of Sindh are the source of corruption for the MPAs that's why hi-ups of PPP have taken this decision and further action would also be taken against Laghari and Butt. Sources further said that similar actions would also be taken against some other MPAs, including Imdad Pitafi, Dr Nasrullah Baloch, Javaid Shah and others, who are also said to be supporters of Dr Zulifqar Mirza.
