Sindh police on Friday claimed to have arrested an official of Anti Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) over the charge of selling stolen vehicles in Balochistan. According to the police sources, the action was taken by Crime Investigation Department (CID) on the complaints, which revealed that the accused Ashok, sub-inspector ACLC was involved in selling stolen vehicles at Balochistan.
Reacting on this information, the department has suspended him from service and initiated inquiry against him. They said the accused Ashok has so far sold some 50 vehicles with the connivance of other law enforcers posted at different check posts in Balochistan.
When contacted, DIG CIA Iftikhar Tarrar confirmed that the said official was suspended over the charge of misconduct. He said the initial inquiry has proved his involvement in this illicit activity. He said the Sindh police are going to provide a list of the other officials and would ask to the IG Balochistan to initiate departmental inquiry against them.
