Muttahida Qumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has vehemently denounced the use of derogatory and abusive language against President of Pakistan by leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in a public meeting in Lahore. He was addressing a workers convention of the MQM in Lal Qila Ground Azizabad. He said Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif did not say anything of importance in the public meeting rather than hurling offensive at President Asif Ali Zardari.
Deputy Convenors of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar, Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, and members of co-ordination committee were also present on the occasion. "The office of the president has its dignity, and it is the symbol of the federation. The dignity of the office of the president should have been respected by the leaders of the (PML-N)". Hussain said that MQM would hold a protest rally on Sunday (today) at 2:00 pm at Tibet Centre on MA Jinnah road and would registered strong protest over the derogatory and un-parliamentary language used against President Zardari in Punjab.
Hussain said that the undemocratic attitude of the (PML-N) was aimed at stopping the wheel of democracy in the country. The MQM would protect the democracy, and it would fight against those who wanted to remove the government by adopting undemocratic methods.
He invited leaders and workers of PML (Q), PML (F) and PPP and all other political forces to take full part in the protest rally. Hussain asserted that criticism must always be done within the limits of decency. No one should use abusive language. Hussain said that elections were coming, and the MQM would give amazing results throughout the country. Earlier Altaf Hussain spoke about the welfare activities of Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF).
