In all 3,864 candidates appeared at pre-entry test for admissions to Masters, MS and MPhil degree programmes at the University of Sindh for its academic session 2012 in a discipline and peaceful environment here on Sunday. Pre-entry test was conducted at the Faculty of Arts building by the Sindh University testing center under the supervision of the Pro Vice-Chancellors and Deans of the Committee.
Among 3,864 candidates, 2,994 candidates including 2,238 male and 756 female candidates appeared for entry test for admissions to 57 disciplines under morning and evening shifts for Masters while 880 candidates including 630 male and 250 female appeared for MS/MPhil degree programmes. Total 20% number of candidates compared to academic session 2011 has been increased for academic session 2012 under Maters and MPhil degree programmes.
The University of Sindh took vigilant security measures at the campus and provided transport facility to candidates from various routes of Hyderabad City. A special point buses were also plied from zero point of the Campus to Faculty of arts to provide pick-and-drop facility to the girl students. A centralised sound system was set up and it was connected with all examination blocks. For the guidance of the candidates instructions were broadcasted in Sindhi, Urdu and English from the centralised sound system room. In a systemic and in a discipline-wise seating arrangement was made for candidates and as per admit card the candidates seated in their examination blocks.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor Sindh University Campus Mirpurkhas Dr Imdad Ali Ismaili welcomed the candidates and highlighted important aspects of the entry test. He informed that the University of Sindh started pre-entry test first among public sector Universities to be followed by all other institutes and Universities in the Country. Dr Ismaili along with acting pro Vice-Chancellor of main campus Dr Muhammad Hussain Shaikh as well as Deans of the Faculties, Registrar Akhtar Ahmed Memon and Acting Dean Research Dr Muhammad Raees visited all examination blocks from time to time and inspected the arrangements.
The pre-entry test was conducted on OMR sheets while examination paper was comprised of 100 questions of the related subject, English and General Knowledge. And separate arrangements were made for the parents at the campus as well as first-aid medical facility along with medical doctors for any emergency purpose was made available.
