The Met Office on Tuesday forecast widespread rains are likely to hit southern parts of the country from Tuesday to Thursday as the western disturbance persists on the northern areas. Under the severe weather warning, the forecaster said "widespread Rains heavy at times expected in southern parts of the country from Tuesday to Thursday".
It added the Monday's depression which was at present located at western parts of Arabian Sea is likely to move towards Oman coast in the next 24 hours. "Yesterday's depression is now located at 16ºN & 56ºE over western parts of Arabian Sea," it said. In the next 24 hours, it said widespread rain/thunderstorm heavy at times with strong gusty winds in Makran division and scattered rain/thunderstorm in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, lower Sindh and Gilgit-Baltistan/Kashmir are expected to occur.
"Widespread rain/thunderstorm heavy at times with strong gusty winds are expected in Makran division whereas scattered rain/thunderstorm is likely in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Lower Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan/Kashmir in the next 48 hours," the office forecast.
Temperature in Ziarat went into minus 2 degree centigrade and Lesballa and Mithi sizzled with 36 degree centigrade in the last 24 hours, according to the Met Office. Karachi's weather is expected to remain partly cloudy with chances of thunderstorm/rain in the next 24 hours with temperature ranging between 34 degree centigrade and 36 degree centigrade, the forecaster said.
