The Director General Health Services Sindh has said that government is remained busy in providing health facilities to hundreds of thousands of people affected due to heavy monsoon rains in Sindh. He informed that up till now 15,27,708 patients had been treated in 32 fixed and 19 mobile medical camps by 222 doctors/paramedical staff. He further informed in his report issued to this office that most of the people in affected areas are suffering in skin, diarrhea diseases and Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI).
He informed that 2,45,267 patients of skin diseases, 1,90,348 patients of Diarrhea, 2,74,549 patients of ARI, 53,775 patients of Dysentery, 74,632 patients of eye infection and 884 patients of snake bite had also been treated.
He also informed that 6,859 patients' malaria tests were positive and 2,91,463 people were suspected of malaria. He said that till October 30, 2011 as many as 540 people were got injured and 120 were died in rain related incidents in Sindh. He said that anti-malaria spray and fumigation as well as immunisation of children and pregnant women were also being carried out.
