The Karachi Port handled 85,058 tonnes of cargo comprising 81,985 tonnes of import cargo and 3,073 tonnes of export cargo including 381 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 81,985 tonnes comprised of 1,408 tonnes of containerised cargo; 13,257 tonnes of bulk cargo: 8,205 tonnes of DAP; 38 tonnes of wheat; 5,052 tonnes of rock phosphate and 67,320 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 3,073 tonnes comprised of 2,294 tonnes of containerised cargo and 779 tonnes of cement. Two ships namely Rio Grand Express and Pitaloka carrying one container ship and one chemicals carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Three vessels viz Stolt Sun, Genmar Compatriot and YM Fuzho carrying two oil tankers and one container ship respectively are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Kition and Lilac carrying one crude oil tanker and one rock phosphate carrier expected to sail on Friday, while two ships namely Stolt Sun and Genmar Compatriot with tallow carrier and patrol tanker are expected to sail on Saturday. Five vessels viz Emirates Kanako, YM Colombo, APL Sokhna, OEL Trust and Anjasmore carrying four container ships and one palm oil tanker respectively due to arrive on Friday, while three container vessels viz Hyundai Discovery, Al-Mirqab and Callao Bridge are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 116,115 tonnes, comprising 92,490 tonnes of import cargo and 23,625 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,043 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 92,490 tonnes includes 48,100 tonnes of furnace oil; 9,500 tonnes of palm oil; 60 tonnes of bitumen; 3,510 tonnes of sunflower seeds; 2,930 tonnes of chemicals and 28,390 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 23,625 tonnes includes 284 tonnes of rice and 23,341 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three container ships namely CV Nele Maersk, CV Pisti and CV APL Chille sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, on Friday morning, while another ship namely MT Pitaloka with chemicals is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of ten vessels CV Nele Maersk, CV Pisti, CV APL Chille, MV Alexi-1, MV Safina-2, MT Asthit Merchant, MT Bunga Laurel, MT Olympic Serenity, MT Pitaloka and MT Kiran Africa are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, Bitumen, palm oil, furnace oil, chemicals and sunflower seeds respectively during last 24 hours.
Two ships namely MSC Anafi and STX Bright with containers and project cargo respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV MSC Anafi, CV Al-Mirqab, MV STX Bright and MT DL Voilet carrying containers, project cargo and chemicals respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Turminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday.
