The grain and seed wholesale market re-opened on Thursday after prolonged holidays. The opening day saw fluctuation in commodities rates few and far between. The traders were more concerned with Eid greetings than bargaining rates.
However, Irri 6 Sindh low type was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 3150, while the other type was put at Rs 3175. Til shed Rs 50 to Rs 3400 - 3600 and cotton seed cakes with bag in Sindh lost Rs 100 to Rs 1000, while better type shed Rs 50 to Rs 1050.
On Friday no change was seen on the wholesale grain and seed market, as almost all the participants were busy in preparations for Juma prayers.
On Saturday most of the commodity prices fell in process of modest trading. Guwar Sindh and Punjab both dropped Rs 300 to Rs 6400-6500, yellow peas Ukraine lost Rs 50 to Rs 3650-3850 and yellow peas Ukraine dal also shed the same amount to Rs 4150-4350, other items maintained overnight levels. Irri-6 Sindh low type was down by Rs 100 to Rs 3050 and better type was lower by Rs 75 to Rs 3100, Irri-white (broken) lost Rs 100 to Rs 2400-2500. Cottonseed oilcake Sindh low type shed Rs 50 to Rs 950, while the best type retained overnight level at Rs 1050. Prices maintained overnight levels on the cereals side.
On Jodia Bazaar plastic moulding compounds closed mixed. The changes were: PLASTIC MOULDING COMPOUNDS: HDPE (FILM) (Per lb): Saudia 952 edged up by Rs 1.50 to Rs 75 and TR144 went higher by Rs 1.50 to Rs 75. HDPE (BLOW): Kuwait was quoted at Rs 75.25, Marlex Singapore moved upward by Rs 3 to Rs 76 and Iran ended up by Rs 2.50 to Rs 73.50. LDPE: 374 moved downward by Rs 1.50 to Rs 84, MG 20 finished lower by Rs 2 to Rs 93 and MG 70 ended lower by Rs 4 to Rs 92. POLYPROPYLENE (FILM): India closed higher by Rs 1.50 to Rs 80. POLYPROPYLENE (TAPE GRADE): India moved up by Rs 2 to Rs 78, Kuwait ended higher by Rs 2 to Rs 78 and Saudia was quoted at Rs 78. POLYPROPYLENE (INJECTION GRADE): Saudia ended up by Re 1 to Rs 78.50 and India moved upward by 75-paisa to Rs 78.75. POLYSTYRENE: Pakistani was quoted at Rs 4,307. HIGH IMPACT (Per bag): Pakistani was quoted at Rs 4,910. ABS: Polylac 707 was quoted at Rs 6,150.
