The Supreme Court on Monday sought details of agreement within two days which was signed by Federal government and provincial governments during 1954 for DMGs officers' transfers and appointments in provinces. A two-member bench of Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan was hearing identical petitions filed by PCS officers under Article 184 of the Constitution.
During the hearing, CSSP officer's counsel Hamid Khan pleaded that the case was not maintainable in existence of the agreement and prayed to examine the 1954 agreement whose presence has seized limits of the court. The Attorney General for Pakistan apprised the bench that some papers were submitted in the court, adding that availability of the original copy of the agreement was not possible. The AGP prayed for more time to resolve the issue and the court adjourned the hearing for indefinite time.
