Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Tuesday said that the banned sectarian outfit, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ), was behind the targeted killings in Balochistan. Responding to point of orders of MNAs during the National Assembly's session, the minister said that some 25 mobile phones used in targeted killings had been recovered from various jails of the country.
He said under the 18th Constitutional Amendment, maintenance of law and order was now the responsibility of the provinces. However, he said that the federal government would provide logistic support to the provincial governments for maintaining law and order.
