Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has geared up its efforts against the PPP-led government and is making efforts for winning the support of political players in the wake of challenge posed by the PTI Chief Imran Khan. The PML-N leaders are meeting different political leaders and in the next few days, some prominent political figures are going to join the party, sources in the PML-N said.
According to them, PML-N leaders are meeting those PML leaders who joined hands with Pervez Musharraf and is considering for their return in the party fold. Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is also mobilising the party workers by holding interaction with them.
While addressing the PML-N workers in Lahore, Shahbaz said that the way corrupt and incompetent rulers have brought the country to the verge of disaster is a matter of serious concern for every patriotic Pakistani. "If the nation did not get rid of corrupt rulers the country might face irreparable loss. Nawaz Sharif is the ray of hope and under his leadership the country will be steered out of crises and put on the road to progress and development," he said, adding: "Pakistan was achieved after an epic struggle and every sacrifice will be made for its strength and solidarity."
Shahbaz Sharif said that the lust for wealth and loot and plunder of the Qabza Mafia sitting in Islamabad has destroyed national economy. He said that besides nepotism and plunder, a new scandal of corruption is coming to the limelight almost daily but the rulers are unmoved.
He said that the way national resources have been plundered and institutions have been destroyed during the last about four years is unprecedented in the history of the country. He said that it is the need of the hour that thieves and plunderers are held accountable and looted money is recovered from them for its utilisation on the welfare of the poor people and talented youth. He said that it is time to make an example of looters so that nobody could dare to loot the hard-earned money of the people and national resources. He said that sole aim of the rulers is to prolong their rule.
He said that those who got loans of billions of rupees written off from the banks on political basis are also sitting in the power corridors. He said that the present government has to its discredit such infamous scandals as NICL, rental power plants and picking the pockets of pilgrims. He said that so much so Chichuki Maliyan and Nandipur Projects have been thrown into cold storage for minting money.
The Chief Minister further said that service to the people is the mission of PML-N government and all out resources are being utilised on the welfare and betterment of the people in a transparent manner. He said that a comprehensive policy has been adopted for the elimination of poverty and unemployment while revolutionary measures have been taken for the uplift of health and education sectors.
