Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) has urged the government to utilise all the available resources and official machinery to implement its announcement of provision of regular and uninterrupted gas supply to fertiliser manufacturing units. KBP welcoming the statement of the Prime Minister in this regard said that mere announcements couldn't resolve the problems being faced by the growers rather government should take practical steps to solve the issue.
KBP President Sardar Zafar Hussein in a statement issued here on Friday demanded that the federal and provincial governments should ensure implementation on these statements and enforcement of law. Stern action should be taken against those involved in black marketing including cancellation of licenses of all those dealers involved in over-charging and black marketing.
He also urged that consultative committees should be formed in all the districts in consultation with growers' organisations to keep a vigilant eye on black marketing mafia. On report of these committees, DCOs should issue directives for legal action against black marketers and those selling fake pesticides, seed and fertiliser on daily basis, KBP Chief concluded.
