Another person lost his life due to dengue while 27 confirmed cases of the virus have been reported from across Punjab out of which eight patients were reported in Lahore. According to the report released by the health department, total number of dengue patients in Punjab has risen to 21,204 out of which 17,407 belong to Lahore.
At present, 228 patients are under treatment in different hospitals of Punjab out of which 169 patients are admitted in different hospitals of Lahore. As many as 81 dengue patients have been cured and discharged from the teaching and district headquarters hospitals of Lahore during the last 24 hours. This includes 23 patients from Mayo Hospital, seven from Services, 12 from Jinnah, 24 from Sir Ganga Ram, 10 from Kot Khawaja Saeed and five patients discharged from Lahore General Hospital.
According to the report, so far, 20,872 dengue patients have been cured and discharged from different hospitals in Punjab out of them, 17,398 patients belonged to Lahore. Meanwhile, on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Health Department Punjab has reduced 'purchee fee' (OPD Ticket) and emergency admission fee and fixed it at Rs 01 in all the Teaching, DHQ, THQ Hospitals, Rural Health Centres and Basic Health Units. However, no fee will be charged from dengue fever patients.
In this connection, the health department has issued notification and conveyed instructions to all the principals of medical colleges, medical superintendents of teaching, DHQ as well as THQ hospitals and in-charge doctors of Rural Health Centres and Basic Health Units in the province.
