A cargo volume of 51,414 tonnes, comprising 50,115 tonnes of import cargo and 1,299 tonnes of export cargo was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 50,115 tonnes includes 29,056 tonnes of furnace oil; 14 tonnes of project cargo; 12,750 tonnes of palm oil and 8,295 tonnes of sunflower seeds.
The total export cargo of 1,299 tonnes includes 445 tonnes of rice and 854 tonnes of cement. Two ships namely MT Grace and MT Baltic Winter sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another ship namely MT Abdul Aziz Arab is expected to sail on Saturday morning.
A total number of nine vessels CV Ikan Tambk, MT Baltic Winter, MT Abdul Aziz Arab, MV Alexi-1, MV Safina-2, MT Grace, MTM Hong Kong, Al-Khalidia and MV Iron Kalypso are currently occupying berths to load/offload canola seeds, cement, rice, palm oil, diesel oil and sunflower seeds respectively during last 24 hours. Four ships namely SC Geoji, Angel No-II, Chembulk Singapore and Fonthida Naree with palm oil and rice respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A container vessel CV MSC Anafi is expected to take berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Saturday.
