Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said here that Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States, Hussain Ahmad Haqqani, has been summoned regarding the issue of 'memo'. He said after he comes to Pakistan, he will present his version.
"Any decision regarding the 'memo' sans hearing views of Hussain Haqqani will be a wrongful deed," he said while talking to media men after attending Valima of the son Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Masood Kausar here at Governor House. He said that the issue of 'memo' along with other matters would soon reach their logical end.
He said that there was no threat to democracy, but the government would have no objection if anyone wants to come into power through democratic and constitutional means. He, however, warned that the government will not accept any unconstitutional step in this regard. He said the PPP government had come to power through people's mandate and power of vote. He said that the government relation with the establishment was more conducive and friendly.
He said that when PTI Chairman Imran Khan would take over, they will ask from him about what's role of the establishment. The Prime Minister said that the present government is accountable before masses and opposition first time in history of the country. The PPP-led coalition government had always adopted reconciliation policy despite facing enormous challenges, he maintained.
He said the government had held all parties conference (APC) through which it passed a unanimous resolution against the US threats and intimidating policies. Gilani said that terrorism is like a cancer, which should be uprooted from the country at every cost and observed that the all nation was against this curse.
Referring to the policies of US and western world, he said that a major policy shift was brought into the alliance states regarding war against terrorism, which were now talking about negotiation instead of imposing force policy.
On the occasion, the traditional Khattak and Mashud dance were presented, through which a large number of government officials, participants and audience, who attended the function, were fascinated by the performance. The Prime Minister witnessed the performance for quite some time. The Walima was attended by Punjab Governor Latif Khosa, KP Corps Commanded Asif Yasin Malik, Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court Justice Dost Mohammad Khan, officials of Fata Secretariat and KP government department.
