THURSDAY NOVEMBER 17: MoU with Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan: power import approved by cabinet

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet on Wednesday approved a Memorandum of Under-standing for import of electricity from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to help the country meet its growing energy shortfall. The Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani also gave approval to the signing of an MoU between Board of Investment Pakistan and State Committee on Investments and the State Property Management of Tajikistan.
It approved enhancement of weight limit of printed books from two kilograms to seven kilograms to facilitate low cost transport of books. The Cabinet also approved an MoU on bilateral consultation mechanism between Pakistan and Chile.
