TUESDAY NOVEMBER 15: Cooperation in diverse fields: Pakistan and Turkmenistan ink five accords
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Turkmenistan on Monday inked five agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to enhance bilateral co-operation in the fields of trade, energy, media and culture. Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and Turkmen President Berdymukhammedov witnessed the signing of accords as the representatives from both the countries inked the documents, in a ceremony held at the Prime Minister's House.
Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Turkmen minister Rashid Meredov signed the MoU on co-operation between the foreign ministries of two countries. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and Turkmen Minister for Culture Gulmurad Muradov inked the Agreement on co-operation between Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and Turkmen News State Service.
The Agreement on gas sales purchase relating to the gas pipeline project of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India was inked by Managing Director of Inter-State Gas System Mubeen Saulat and Chairman of Turkmenistan Gas Trade Concern Amanali Hanalyev.
The MoU on co-operation between Pakistan's Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan was signed by Federal Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim and Turkmen Minister Byar Abayev. The MoU on cultural co-operation was inked by Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Turkmen Culture Minister Gulmurad Muradov.
