Sindh CNG Association organised a reception party at local hotel here. President Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce, Goharullah was presiding while DMD SSGC, Syed Hassan Nawab was the chief guest on the occasion. President HCCI, Goharullah in his address ensured that HCCI would provide every help to find out the means of problem solving for the CNG dealers.
He said that CNG Sub committee of HCCI was already functioning and two members of Sindh CNG Association would also be included in this committee to resolve the problems of CNG dealers on immediate basis. He said that the doors of HCCI would remain open for CNG dealers. DMD Sui Southern Gas Company, Syed Hassan Nawab said that yearly 10 percent growth in the consumption of gas causes its load-shedding.
He said that according to the constitution Article 158 and on the order of Sindh High court, Sindh was not being affected by load shedding. He said that Agro Company invested Rs 1.5 billion on new plant with the assurance of gas supply by the government but gas was not provided to the company due to some technical problem in Qadirpur Gas field. Hence keeping in the view the importance of fertiliser for the Rabi crops, government allows to providing gas to Agro Company by reducing 50 percent of gas supply to KSE and other 50 percent gas was provided from northern gas company.
He disclosed that a new Zin Gas field was found in Balochistan, which was worth about 10 trillion cubic fit of gas; work on the project was underway. He said that completion of this project would very much helpful to end gas load shedding. Responding on the complaint about low gas pressure he said that the project was delayed due to heavy rainfall in the area but now it is about to complete and the problem would rectify till December 2011.
Chairman Tajir Dost Panel, Haji Mohammad Yaqoob assured that Hyderabad Chamber would remain continue its co-operation with Sindh CNG Association and would also provide helpful hands, he added. Chairman Sindh CNG Association, Zulfiqar Ahmed Yousuf Fani, in his welcome address said that 360 CNG stations were operational in Sindh while this fuel was used by approximately 35 lacs (3.5 million) vehicles. He said that government was engaged to grab this cheep green fuel from common people by raising income tax and gas load-shedding.
