Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Tuesday has accepted the resignation of Advocate General Punjab, Khawaja Haris Ahmad which he tendered on personal reasons. Appreciating the services of Khawaja Haris Ahmad, the CM termed him a professional and upright person in the field of law. The CM said that Khawaja Haris has rendered unprecedented services in constitutional and legal matters of vital importance.
He lauded the role of Haris in some cases like Bank of Punjab, Haris Steel Mills Scam and 18th Constitutional Amendment. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that Haris as Advocate General Punjab has played a key role in performing legal matters contested on professional grounds. The CM observed that the services rendered by Khawaja Haris in constitutional matters, observance of law and governance based on transparent accountability would prove to be torchbearer for his successors.
