Chief Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain has announced that a historic public meeting of the MQM will be held in Multan on 23rd December 2011. He announced this while talking to the office-bearer and workers of MQM Lahore Zone. Members of the committees of various towns of Lahore were also present on the occasion. Hussain appealed to the people living in cities, town and villages of the southern Punjab, particularly the Seraiki-speaking people, to come in Multan public meeting.
Hussain asked the workers of all the districts, including the Multan Zone to start work for making the public meeting a success. He said that the people of Pakistan have become fed up with the corrupt political culture and feudal system that had been imposed in the country for the past 64 years.
