Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) has taken U-turn on holding of general elections before the Senate elections in March 2012 following PTI' Chief Imran Khan's mammoth public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan on 30th October. Political analysts said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had started the PML-N campaign for removal of the PPP government at a well attended public meeting in Lahore on October 28 by chanting 'Go Zardari Go' slogan.
Nawaz had turned his guns towards Imran Khan who posed a formidable challenge to Sharifs' in their stronghold Central Punjab. They noted that instead of criticising President Zardari and PPP government at his Faisalabad rally on Sunday, Nawaz was slamming PTI, which he alleged was supported by agencies. Analysts said that PML-N's influential leaders said recently that PML-N parliamentarians would resign from assemblies before Senate elections to pave the way for general elections in the country.
