Solve Agri Dairy Institute, a first of its kind private sector dairy and livestock professional training and skills development institute in Pakistan, has joined hands with PTC+, a highly respected and renowned Dutch institute specialised in conducting practical trainings, offering a much needed training programme for the dairy sector of Pakistan.
The two institutes formally signed the agreement on Tuesday at the head office of Solve Agri Pak (Private) Limited; the company, which founded Solve Agri Dairy Institute, Solve Agri Pak CEO Haroon Lodhi and PTC+ International Business Development Manager Bertus Bronkhorst signed the agreement.
Present on the occasion were also PTC+ Senior Trainer and Consultant Piet Tesselaar, SAPPL General Manager Dr Muhammad Nasir Javed, SAPPL Head of Farms and Agri Division Hafiz Wasi M. Khan and Incharge Solve Agri Dairy Institute Dr Waseem Shaukat among others.
Speaking after signing the agreement, Haroon Lodhi, CEO Solve Agri Pak (Private) Limited, said, "As an organisation, Solve Agri Pak is committed to provide top of the line, workable and sustainable solutions to our local industry. More and more modern large scale dairy farms are developing in Pakistan, and our training institute feels responsibility to address key competency and capacity issues of this sector. We are positive that our partnership with PTC+ will add immense value to the industry."
Bertus Bronkhorst, the head of PTC+ delegation in Pakistan, commented on the partnership stating, "The partnership between PTC+ and Solve Agri Dairy Institute is significant not only because it will further strengthen the economic activity between the two countries, but also because there is enormous potential in Pakistan's dairy and livestock sector, which is already the 3rd largest milk producer in the world. This training programme is being designed to impart modern, scientific and professional knowledge to local dairy farmers which will prove to be of profound benefit to Pakistan's dairy farmers."
At the end of the ceremony, Dr Waseem Shaukat, Incharge Solve Agri Dairy Institute, emphasised that, "the four month training programme will be jointly arranged by Solve Agri Dairy Institute and its Dutch counterpart." He also added in his final remarks that, "The objective of the training is to provide a cadre of trained and skilled human resources for becoming farm managers for large scale dairy farming in Pakistan in order to help them improve productivity and efficiency of their farms."
