At least two persons were killed while one was injured in separate incidents in various parts of the metropolis on Wednesday. The first incident took place at Sheesha Club located in phase VI Khayaban-e-Bukhari, where two unknown armed men after reportedly exchanging hot words with one Mansoor son of Munawar and his friend Zain opened indiscriminate fire on them.
Resultantly, Mansoor received two bullets while his friend Zain ran towards a bathroom and then locked himself and survived. The armed assailants reached near the bathroom and sprayed the place with bullets, leaving an 18-year-old waiter namely Gulfam in a pool of blood.
Police said the victim Gulfam received single bullet on his head and died on the spot. Meanwhile, SHO Mohsin dispelled the impression that the victim was targeted over personal enmity, saying that it was premature to say anything about the incident. He said Gulfam, who hailed from Kashmir, was serving in the Sheesha Club as a waiter while the injured Mansoor was the son of a prominent businessman. He said the statement of Mansoor, who was presently in critical condition, would determine the exact cause of the incident. No case was registered till filing of this report.
In another incident, a teenager namely Umar son of Anwar was crushed to death by a truck at Musa colony in the limits of Gulberg police station. Driver of the vehicle managed to flee but his truck was torched by angry people. No case was registered till filing of this report.
