Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) will organise a contract signing ceremony at Punjab Institute of Langue, Art & Culture (PILAC) on Thursday (today). The event will be organised to award contracts worth up to Rs 400 million to 31 training institutions.
These organisation will train a total of 17, 000 trainees from selected districts in 71 sector. On behalf of PSDF, Ali Sarfraz, CEO PSDF, will sign the contracts with representatives from the training organisations. Following a competitive model, PSDF is procuring services from private and public sector training organisations to provide skills and vocational training opportunities to the poor and vulnerable populations of four districts of Punjab Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Lodhran and Muzaffargarh. These trainings will be imparted under PSDF's first product skills for Employability. The product's aim is to train 17,000 eligible candidates including one-third females from the target districts.
PSDF is already providing vocational training in six model villages of Muzaffargarh. The model villages are Basti Meeran Mullah, Basti Khara Niazi Wala, Rakh Jhal Wala, Bhulla Mouza Aaalo Rid Gujrat, Khara Nawa and Rakhehsanpur. A total of 415 eligible candidates are being trained in diverse trades by three training organisations. Punjab Skills Development Fund is a not-for-profit organisation set up with the contributions of Government of Punjab and Department for International Development, UK for skills development of the poor and vulnerable populations in four districts of South Punjab.
