Nissan’s new high-tech SUV is more than just a car
Motoring companies have been making smarter cars with time, which might look like usual cars from the outside but are way too impressive from the inside. Nissan has now joined this race by introducing a dreamy SUV.
The brand new Nissan Xmotion might seem like a normal SUV from the outside but has jaw-dropping high-tech interior. The car has a total of seven digital touchscreens inside it that makes it a step closer to completely replace the manual controls with automatic technology.
Nissan Xmotion (pronounced cross-motion) was revealed as a concept car at the North American International Auto Show, the annual auto show held at Detroit.
The futuristic SUV has a room for six and features three main displays and left-and-right end displays that span the width of the instrumental panel. Replacing the rearview mirror, there is a digital room mirror on the ceiling as well as a center console display, according to The Verge.
On the front, the car has U-shaped headlights and metal wheels covered in all-terrain tires. The car is a blend of Japanese culture and craftsmanship with American-style utility.

For the inside, there is a large wooden center console expanding across the whole length of the car. The company claims that the screens and the infotainment system of the car can be controlled by hand gestures and eye movements. “Intuitive controls and a voice command system allow drivers to focus on driving, helping them access various information in a smart, easy, and safe manner.”
“Fingerprint authentication is used to start the operation of the Xmotion concept. When the driver touches the fingerprint authentication area on the top of the console, the opening sequence starts, awakening the virtual personal assistant – which takes the shape of a Japanese koi fish,” according to a press release issued by Nissan.
When the car is in autonomous mode, the koi fish picks up browsing data regarding areas of interests along the way. The fish helps reduce stress by helping with navigations and music selection. “In this way, the koi acts as a storyteller to connect human and machine,” says Nissan.
The Drive reported, Alfonso Albaisa, the senior VP of global design for Nissan explained, “At a glance, Xmotion may appear to have a minimal design language, but a closer look reveals layers of detail that make this concept exceptional.”
