TAG Heuer releases most expensive diamond studded smartwatch
The Swiss luxury manufacturing company TAG Heuer has recently announced its two smartwatches - one being a comparatively small customizable smartwatch for smaller wrists while the other is the world’s most expensive diamond studded connected smartwatch.
TAG Heuer revealed its latest Android Wear Swiss made smartwatches, Connected Modular 41 and TAG Heuer Connected Full Diamond at this year’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève (SIHH 2018) watch show.
The Connected Modular 41 smartwatch is water resistant up to 50 meters, has customizable TAG Heuer dials, contains GPS and also an NFC sensor for contactless payment through Android Pay. Made for smaller wrists, the watch has a 41mm diameter with an AMOLED display that has improved brightness and also has 1GB RAM and 8GB storage capacity. The watch is compatible with Android 4.4 or iOS 9 and above.
As per the company, it collaborated with two giants namely Google and Intel for making the $1,200 watch. The smartwatch has seven models with customizable straps and lugs of different colors. The watchface could also be easily customized, as TAG Heuer puts it that ‘the connected watch becomes an attractive mechanical watch in just a few clicks’, reported The Verge.

The other TAG Heuer Connected Full Diamond smartwatch has 589 diamonds studded on it and is the most expensive Android Wear watch ever made costing around $197,000. Apart from the diamonds, the watch is similar to TAG Heuer’s Connected Modular 45 smartwatch released last year that cost $1,600. The watch’s case and bracelet is made out of 18K white gold and has 23.35 carats of baguette diamonds, according to DroidLife.
Talking about the specs, the watch has the 45mm case and is a standard Android Wear device with AMOLED screen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, NPC and GPS.
