President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday strongly condemned Nato helicopters' attack on Pakistani troops in two Pakistan Army borders posts in Mohmand Agency, and termed it violation of Pakistan's sovereignty. According to the spokesperson to President, Farhat Ullah Babar, the President strongly condemned this incident and said that "it is unacceptable".
The President said it is unacceptable attack by Nato/Isaf helicopters, resulting in loss of precious lives of Pakistani soldiers. The President said a strong protest has also been launched with Nato and Isaf on this incident and they have been asked to take urgent action against those responsible for this aggression.
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani strongly condemned the Nato/Isaf attack on the Pakistani post. According to Foreign Office, on the special directive of the Prime Minister, the matter is being taken up by the Foreign Ministry, in the strongest terms, with Nato and the United States.
Prime Minister Gilani cancelled his engagements in Multan and was returning to Islamabad on Saturday evening. The Prime Minister has summoned the meeting of Defence Committee of the Cabinet on Sunday evening to formulate the response of the government in the aftermath of Mohmand Agency incident. According to PM House spokesperson, the Prime Minister will also take the national leadership into confidence on the issue. The spokesperson said the Prime Minister had cut short his three-day visit to Multan and was returning to Islamabad in the evening.
