Mixed pattern was evident on the commodities wholesale markets where trading moved in slow pace during the week ended on Nov 26, 2011.
The opening day saw cereals on the commodity wholesale market in easy profile such as moong Punjab was quoted lower at Rs 6250 and Rs 6750, masoor Canada slipped by Rs 500 to Rs 4500, masoor dal was marked down at Rs 6000, urad Burma quoted down at Rs 2680 - 2685, wheat old and new bardan quoted down at Rs 2680-2685 and Rs 2695- 2700, guwar Sindh and Punjab low type shed Rs 500 to Rs 6500 while better type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 6700. Irri-6 Sindh inferior type was put at Rs 3150, while the other type lost Rs 25 to Rs 3200. Cottonsee oilcakes with bag was put at Rs 900, while the better type shed Rs 75 to Rs 1000.
On Tuesday makai low type shed Rs 25 to Rs 2100, while the other type was unchanged at Rs 2250, guwar ended lower by Rs 100 to Rs 2100 and Rs 2200, barley Sindh and Mardan was quoted at Rs 3250, wheat old and new bardan rose by Rs 5 to Rs 2685-2690 and Rs 2700- 2705. Cottonseed oilcakes with bag low type gained Rs 50 to Rs 950, while the other variety was unchanged at Rs 1000, Irri while broken low type rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2500 and other type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 2600.
On Wednesday wheat old and new bardan quoted at Rs 2680 and Rs 2690, gur low type seen at Rs 5000, while the better type lost Rs 400 to Rs 5600, grams Australia No I shed Rs 100 to Rs 4500-4700, grams dal Australia No. I low type shed Rs 900, while the other type fell by Rs 700 to Rs 5800, yellow peas Canadia rose by Rs 400 to Rs 4300 to Rs 4500, yellow peas dal Canada shed Rs 700 to Rs 3650 and Rs 3850, yellow peas Ukraine rose by Rs 500 to Rs 4150 and Rs 4350, yellow peas dal Ukraine rose by Rs 750 to Rs 5000 and Rs 5600, cottonseed oilcakes Sindh bag low type seen at Rs 950, while other type gained Rs 50 to Rs 1050.
On Jodia Bazaar Rangolite "C" (per pound) from China weaker by Rs 3 to Rs 90, same item from Germany quoted at Rs 91 and India's rose by Rs 2 to Rs 90. Hydrosulphite India gained Re 1 to Rs 60, acetic acid Taiwan rose by Rs 2 to Rs 98, while Korean lost Re 1 to Rs 91.
On Thursday masoor dal Canada shed Rs 200 to Rs 5800, urad Burma was quoted at Rs 2400, gram Australia lost Rs 100 to Rs 4400 and Rs 4600, gram Australia No I dal shed Rs 100 to Rs 5500 and Rs 5700, gram 50x50 shed Rs 100 to Rs 5100 and Rs 5300, yellow peas Canada lost Rs 50 to Rs 3800 and Rs 4000, yellow peas Canada dal down Rs 100 to Rs 4400, yellow peas Ukraine shed Rs 50 to Rs 3600 and Rs 3800, yellow peas Ukraine dal lost Rs 50 to Rs 4100 and Rs 4300. Irri-6 Sindh low fell by Rs 15 to Rs 3125, while the other quality was put at Rs 3225, cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh low type was put at Rs 950 and the other type gained Rs 50 to Rs 1050.
On Friday rates of commodities were unchanged on the wholesale grain and seed market, as almost all the participants were busy in preparations for Juma prayers.
On Jodia Bazaar Kirana items ended mixed. The changes were :KIRANA ITEMS (Per 40-kg): Black pepper Singapore finished down by Rs 500 to Rs 25,000, big cardamom moved downward by Rs 2000 to Rs 81,000, cloves went lower by Rs 3000 to Rs 55,000, copra Ceylon closed down by Rs 500 to Rs 5,800, dry ginger (China) ended lower by Rs 500 to Rs 14,000, dry ginger (Ethiopia) moved downward by Rs 1000 to Rs 9000, sago ended higher by Rs 100 to Rs 3000 and darchini went lower by Rs 200 to Rs 6,200.
On Saturday Prices moved both ways, makai inferior type was higher by Rs 125 to Rs 2225, while the best type retained the overnight level at Rs 2250, wheat old and new Bardan were quoted at Rs 2680-2695. On the grams side, grams 50x50 were up by Rs 100 to Rs 5200-5400, other items did not show any change in process of thin trading. Irri-6 Sindh shed Rs 25 to Rs 3100-3200 due to falling demand by foreign buyers. Cottonseed oilcake with bag low type was unchanged at Rs 950, while the best type dropped Rs 60 to Rs 990.
On Jodia Bazaar Ceylon raw rubber edged down. The changes were :CEYLON RAW RUBBER (Per lb): RSSV ended lower by Rs 65 to Rs 165 and Pale Crape TPC3 moved downward by Rs 70 to Rs 200. LATEX: Merrytax (28-kg) ended lower by Rs 300 to Rs 1,100, Semnan Tex edged down by Rs 300 to Rs 1,100 and Thai (G T) went downward by Rs 300 to Rs 1,100.
