Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Monday observed 'Pakistan Solidarity and Stability Day' to protest the US and Nato forces' raid in Mohmand Agency that killed 24 army soldiers. MQM chief Altaf Hussain strongly condemned the unwarranted and unprovoked attack and termed it an aggression on the national sovereignty and security.
He had endorsed the decision of MQM Co-ordination Committee to observe Monday, November 28, as 'Pakistan Solidarity and Stability Day.' Hussain had also directed his party men to hoist national flag on houses, buildings and other public places by removing party flags in order to weld the nation into a strong bond of unity for defending the honour and sovereignty of the country.
The central programme in connection with the solidarity day was held at MQM Head Office, Nine Zero, which was attended by scores of MQM workers and sympathisers. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Convenor MQM's Co-ordination Committee, Dr Farooq Sattar, said that the enthusiastic response given by the public to the 'stability and solidarity day' of the MQM proved beyond doubts that the Pakistani nation was capable of giving a befitting reply to any aggression.
He paid rich tributes to the officers and soldiers of Pakistan Army martyred in the unprovoked attack. He said that this challenge should be converted into an opportunity, and it should be made clear to the world that any adventure against the sovereignty of the country would be strongly dealt with. He said that the nation should get united in order to make the defence of the country impregnable. He said that the army should not feel lonely as the entire nation was firmly behind their valiant armed forces.
