Provision of quality healthcare to the people of Punjab through patronisation of private sector is included in the priorities of government for which health department is taking solid steps by providing soft loans to private doctors through Punjab Health Foundation (PHF).
It was stated by Special Secretary Health Punjab Dawood Muhammad Khan Bareach, while presiding over Finance & Technical Committee of Punjab Health Foundation for sanctioning soft loans to the doctors, here on Tuesday. Besides, MD PHF Rana Amman Ullah Khan, other members of the committee attended the meeting.
The committee reviewed 13 loan cases belonging to different districts out of which the committee gave approval of 8 cases whereas, 4-case pended and one rejected. The committee approved 8 loan cases of Dr Yousaf Athar from Lahore, Dr Shehzad Abdul Hameed Rawalpindi, Dr Muhammad Akram Mandi Bahauddin, Dr Tariq Sultan Gujranwala, Dr Muhammad Mehmood Malik Gujranwala, Dr Inayat Hussain Anjum Vehari, Dr Shama Shafiq Mandi Bahauddin and Dr S. M. Irshad from Gujranwala. These doctors would be given loan of Rs 1.5 million each without profit for the purchase of medical equipment, which would be recovered in 8 years in easy instalments.
