The business community as well as the industrialists have expressed grave concern over the lack of infrastructure facilities in SITE area of Hyderabad, which is affecting the overall production of the industries. At a meeting at Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) office here on Tuesday, they pointed out broken roads, lack of drainage and street lighting facilities as problems affecting their area.
They decided to vigorously pursue their case with Provincial Industries Ministry and also with Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE) department officials. President HCCI Seth Goharullah said the infrastructure facilities were very basic requirements for industrial development of a country. He appealed to the government to provide these facilities without any further delay. "It is regretted that though the SITE department's divisional head office is established in Hyderabad but this fact has done little good to the industries," he opined noting that the negative effects of such a situation were not limited to some factories but the country as a whole.
Former President HCCI Haji Muhammad Yaqoob assured the industrialists that from their platform they would fully support the cause of developing the SITE area. "Besides this issue, we are also advancing the need to expedite allotment of plots in SITE phase II of Hyderabad," he added.
The delegation of the industrialists led by Mobin Shaikh and Amir Umar briefed the HCCI office-bearers about the specific problems they face in their area including law and order situation. Shaikh appreciated the support of HCCI and emphasised that the business community would have to act in concert to obtain the requisite facilities for themselves. President Haji Mohammad yaqoob said that we will put more effort to solve the problems faced by the industrialists in Block D.
