The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Wednesday allowed Lahore Bar Association (LBA) to take out a protest rally at the Mall against Nato air strikes on Pakistan army posts. The court allowing the bar members to take out protest rally issued notice to District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) and directed him to file his reply on a point, whether lawyer's rally should be exempted from section 144 of CrPC.
The petitioner president Lahore Bar Association (LBA) Shahzad Hassan Sheikh pleaded before the court that the bar decided to stage a rally against Nato attacks but the Lahore DCO imposed section 144 in the city.
