Transworld, country's first private submarine fiber optic cable operator, has announced the launch of its state-of-the-art, commercial Data Centre in Pakistan, through its corporate arm TES. The launch ceremony, conducted at Transworld's Landing Station in Hawksbay on November 25, was inaugurated by Chairman PTA, Dr Muhammad Yaseen. Transworld Data Centre (TDC) is located 20kms outside the clamor of Karachi city in a fully owned purpose built Telco grade building.
TDC, being built on Tier III architecture, ensures 99.995 percent uptime, uninterrupted power and cooling, and fault tolerant infrastructure. TDC is the new standard of Colocation services for multiple applications including Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Virtual PoPs, Mobile Commerce, Online Media content, and Cloud Computing.
While inaugurating the data center, Dr Mohammed Yaseen said that Transworld's new data center is unique due to its location and state of art technology and new applications and contents can be hosted with minimum capex. He highlighted TWA success in the market and commended the company for providing a high quality environment and encouraged IT entrepreneurs to take advantage of this facility.
The President of Transworld, Kamran Malik, commented on the occasion, "In this digital age, data must be instantly accessible round the clock, leaving no time for down time. We have taken the initiative to launch TDC which fully leverages the location and technology advantages of our landing station".
Zulfiqar Qazilbash, VP Commercial Division, explained at event launch about the advantage which TDC offers, "The Transworld' Data Center provides a unique mix of cutting edge power, safety, security, associated infrastructure, and expert manpower and technical know-how of TDC team.
