Pakistan Rail-ways Employees on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against the suspension of power and water supply, and stopped Awam Express bound from Peshawar to Karachi in protest at cantonment railway station. The protesting employees led by president Railway Workers Union, Peshawar Division, Syed Ashfaq Bacha gathered at cantonment railway early morning and stopped Peshawar to Karachi bounded Awam Express and chanted full throated slogans against the government and railway administration.
On the occasion, the protesters held the rulers and railway administration responsible for growing financial crisis in the Pakistan Railways, saying that what the labours fault in this regard for suspending their electricity and water supply. They said that the employees are facing acute shortage of water and power in the prevailing situation. The protesters have demanded of authority concerned to immediate restore power and water supply to their railway employees' residential colonies.
