Peshawar in command against Quetta setting up 239 runs in their first innings total by restricting Quetta to 26 runs for 2 on the opening day of the four-day Quaid-i-Azam Trophy National Cricket Championship (Division-II) which got under way here at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Peshawar have so far recorded 63 points with seven victories and one drawn match and already qualified to play the final of the event at the same venue against Sui Northern Gas Pipe Line (SNGPL) on December 8-12. Peshawar won the toss and elected to bat first by setting up 239 runs in their first innings after playing 60.1 overs. Thanks to promising batsman Israr Ullah who unluckily bowled out for 98 runs, two runs short from making sixth century in the Championship.
KW post 287-4 Opener Behram Khan and keeper Muhammad Hasan blasted contrasting unbeaten centuries and shared a 201-run unbroken fifth wicket stand as Karachi Whites recovered to post 287-4 in their first innings on day one of their 4-day Quaid-e-Azam Cricket Trophy Division-II tie against Lahore Shalimar at NBP Sports Complex ground here on Wednesday.
