Despite the clear instructions of Sindh High Court to anti-encroachment police it has not made any efforts to get retrieved the encroached land from grabbers in Surjani Town, Sector 4-B, sources told Business Recorder on Saturday.
They said that concerned police official who was responsible for conducting operation in said area accepted corrupt money from encroachers for not launching operation against them. Sources said that SHC had issued orders on 24 November 2011 in which it ordered that illegal encroached parking area by marriage halls, in front of commercial plots numbers SB-181 to SB-192 should be vacated.
In order to fulfil the court orders, Land Acquisition Cell (LAC) of defunct CDGK on 28 November ordered anti-encroachment police force to launch an operation on the said site, but Station House Officer (SHO) anti-enforcement police force Ghayur Akhter refused to do so by giving the lame excuse that the police station is lacking of force.
However, sources in LAC claimed that the SHO has taken bribe from the owners of marriage halls in order to avoid anti-encroachment operation. When Business Recorder contacted Ghayur Akhter, he told this scribe that due to Muharram-ul-Haraam security, the reserve force is not available to conduct the operation.
