The Sindh Minister for Science and Technology Jam Madad Ali said that socio-economic condition of disable persons could be improved if implementation on 2 percent disables' quota in jobs is ensured. He said it is the need of the hour to provide technical, computer and other training of different trades so that they not only earn livelihood for themselves but also contribute towards country's development.
He was speaking to the rally to mark the international disable persons' day organised by Special Education Department which started from Hosh Muhammad Sheedi Flyover and terminated at Sindh Museum Hyderabad and later addressing the ceremony held at Sindh Museum Hyderabad for the purpose today.
He said that disable persons all over the world are given importance and special treatment but, on the contrary, they are ignored in our country which caused sense of deprivation and inferiority complex in them. Jam Madad Ali said that since it is our prime duty to provide basic facilities to disable persons, present government should give priority to provide training and education to disable persons and added that institutes of handicapped persons are to be improved.
He said that disable persons are capable enough and can play their vital role for the development of the country. He assured that he will talk to the Chief Minister Sindh for the construction of modern hostel for disable children in Hyderabad.
