Security arrangements finalised for Ashura

All necessary arrangements have been finalised to provide fool proof security to the processions and majalis of Ashura (Muharram 10). As many as 485 processions and 1315 Majalis will be taken out and held respectively in the division on 9th and 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram where more than 11,000 police personnel will perform duty to provide security.
This was informed by the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Syed Abid Qadri while talking to APP on Monday. Giving details of the processions and Majalis in the district, he said some 118 processions would be taken out in the district on Ashura while 103 Majalis would also be held.
He said control rooms had been set up at all the districts to monitor law and order situation. He said barb wires had been installed around Majalis and processions to avoid trespassing while close circuit cameras had also been installed for their monitoring. He said all the participants of processions and Majalis would be scanned under walk through gates before entry.
