My wife Amatul Aziz breathed her last on 18th September 2011. She served Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation Salt Mines Warcha District Khushab from 2nd June, 1983 first as a Teacher and then from January 1984 as a Head Mistress. On joining PMDC, she was holding degrees in Geography and History besides one in B.Ed and also carrying with her 13 years' teaching experience.
She was transferred to head office in Islamabad but continued to monitor the school performance from Islamabad till her retirement, as a Manager, in July 2005. Her memoirs that she wrote on PMDC High School Warcha shows her sincere, loyal and committed services to education from 1969 to 2005, a period spanning over 36 long years. She writes in her memoir:-
"PMDC Model School Warcha was established at PMDC Salt Mines Rukhla Mandi Warcha Salt Mines, District Khushab in July 1979 as a primary school. The school started functioning in a small staff quarter in staff colony. At that time the project was under M. M. Hashim and PMDC Chairman was Asghar Ali Malik. There were two lady teachers and about 25 children. The school is located in a remote and backward area and about 18-km from Qaidabad, a town situated on main road between Khushab and Mianwali. During the visit of the then Chairman, PMDC Gardazi, I had requested him for the construction of a school as the number of students was increasing with enhanced accommodation problems. My request was instantly and graciously accepted and approval was accorded during 1985-86 financial year for the construction of present school on an area of 8 kanals consisting of 11 rooms.
The school was completed and occupied in 1986. The school under my Head Mistressship continued to produce 100 percent results in board examination of 5th and 8th classes. Students stood first in centre examination and on three occasions, scholarship of 8th class were awarded to the students by Sargodha Board which is on record. In recognition of exemplary performance of PMDC Model School under my watch, the Education Department, Government of Punjab had upgraded and recognised PMDC Primary School up to middle level in 1989 and up to Matriculation in 1999.
With my personal and sincere efforts the school was provided computers, science laboratory and sports goods by the PMDC head office. Regular science classes are being held in the school under experienced teachers. Many of my qualified students have been teaching in the school and contributing substantially in promoting education there". May Allah rest her soul in eternal peace Amen!
