Over 150 volunteers participated in the annual Barclays Pakistan Make a Difference Day (MADD) campaign celebrated in South, Central and North region by colleagues, their friends, families and clients. Volunteers contributed over 600 hours to community service in their regions by organising and participating in 10 volunteering events.
The activities ranged from mentoring activities and educational field trips to Mangrove Plantation and banking orientation sessions. The various activities conducted for 2 consecutive weeks starting 22nd October till 5th November, were part of Barclays global annual initiative in which thousands of Barclays employees participate in hundreds of activities all over the world.
In Karachi, the volunteers invited the students of The Citizens Foundation (TCF) who had expressed interest in pursuing a career in banking. Senior Managers of respective departments took time out of their schedules to impart knowledge and give career counselling to the students. Speaking to the students on the occasion, Barclays Pakistan CEO Shazad Dada said: "It doesn't matter where you come from but what is important is which direction you are headed towards. The key is to have the motivation, dedication and a desire to acquire knowledge."-PR
