An alleged bandit and a boy were killed in a road accident at Native Jetty Bridge in the precincts of Baghdadi police station on Wednesday. According to police, two alleged bandits, who snatched a loaded truck (TKJ-071), rammed into two passers-by - Fayyaz Ilyas, 8 and Fahim Ali Asghar - near Native Jetty Bridge when police intercepted them.
After the incident, the snatchers left the truck and tried to escape from the scene. But one of them was knocked to death by a speedy vehicle. Police impounded the truck and shifted the victims to hospital where doctors declared Fayyaz and unknown bandit dead on arrival while Fahim was admitted to hospital in a critical condition.
