A delegation under Korean Ambassador to Pakistan Choongioo Chol was called on Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti. Additional Chief Secretary Attaullah Khan was also present on the occasion.
Matters pertaining to progress on schemes with Korean assistance in the province, hydel power, investment opportunities in different sectors along with oil and gas, collective situation of the region, development strategy of the provincial government and other matters of mutual interests remained under discussion on the occasion.
The chief minister lauded Korea co-operation in development and prosperity of the province and thanked the delegation. He said that the provincial government was following policy of assistance to international investors in order to benefit from investment opportunities. Increased co-operation in different sectors was agreed during the meeting.
The chief minister said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was not benefiting from its share of water due to lack of canal infra structure, added that the initiating of Chashma Left Canal Project with assistance of World Bank has been planned in this connection which will not only enable the province to benefit from its share of water but will also gain self sufficiency in food and million acre land will be irrigated.
He said that investment opportunities in hydel power, oil and gas, tourism, agriculture, minerals and other sectors increased due to betterment of security situation in the province. Korean ambassador assured to continue and increase efforts for development and prosperity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile talking to MPAs during his weekly meetings, the chief minister said that work on development schemes in the province was progressing speedily and the people will feel pleasant change in their lives with its completion. He stressed the people representatives for more effective contacts with the people in their respective constituencies for timely and qualitative completion of development schemes. Those met the chief minister included provincial ministers and MPAs from different political parties.
