Director General, Employees Social Security Institution (ESSI), Anwar Khan on Thursday informed that the institution will introduce smart card system for provision of health facility to industrial labour force in the country. He further added that the medical facilities are being established through out the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He maintained that agreement has been signed with the management of Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Lady Reading Hospital in this regard. Addressing at a meeting held here under President, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Afan Aziz in chair. Those, who were attended the meeting, including Director Admin, ESSI Gohar Ali, President Industrial Estate, Jamrud Road, Malik Niaz Ahmad, President Industrial Estate Association, Engr Maqsood Anwar Pervez.
SCCI executive members, Ghulam Sabir Saraf, Mohammad Iqbal, Imran Khan and Saddar Gul were also present on the occasion. SCCI president, Afan Aziz while proposing various welfare-initiatives for employees, said that employees are getting maximum health facilities in Punjab as compared to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying there was not taken any concrete step yet in this regard. He proposed for constituting a committee comprising of senior members for elimination of black sheep.
On the occasion, the meeting has constituted a committee regarding Slab System comprising director ESSI, Anwar Khan, Gohar Ali, Malik Niaz, Mohammad Ishaq, and Masood Anwar Pervez, while another committed formed for tackling employees' issue of Gadoon Industrial Estate. The committee members were included Zahidullah Shinwari, Waqar Khan and Mohammad Iqbal.
ESSI Director General, Anwar Khan said that they had forwarded a proposal to taking back medical facility of government employees from grade 1 to 15 to register with the ESSI in order to bring down extra burden on the public sector institutions, but the proposal was already rejected.
He claimed that ESSI is providing more medical facilities then private insurance companies, saying that the industrial employees would facilitate as per recommendations of pay and pension commission, while doctors posts were created in medical facility in Gadoon and Poly Clinic Kohat. At the end, President SCCI, Afan Aziz presented a souvenir to ESSI Director General, Anwar Khan.
