Six persons including two women were killed while 17 others received severe injuries as a result of van-trolley collision at MM road here on Thursday. According to Rescue 1122 sources, a rashly driven passenger van, which was heading Multan from Layyah, collided with a stationary tractor trolley parked along the road near Hassainabad Agri farm at MM road.
The severe collision killed six passengers on the spot and another 17 sustained injuries. The injured were taken to Sarwar Shaheed Hospital where doctors said all were stable. Those killed were identified as-Inspector special branch Layyah Muhammad Arif, Nasir Hussain, Mujahid Hussain, Zartasha Iffat, Sonia Iffat and Muhammad Buksh.
The injured included - Maqsood Ahmad, Muhammad Tariq, Akhtri Begum, Rukhsana, Saleem Arman, Muhammad Aslam, Sitara Aslam, Rubina Aslam, Muhammad Akram, Tasleem Abbas, Assad, Abu Bakar, Mubeen, Muhammad Zeehan, Sakeena and Fauzia Iffat. According to doctors on duty, all the wounded persons were provided treatment on priority and they were stable. The dead were handed over to their families after legal formalities.
