Divisional Commissioner, Ahmed Bux Narejo has appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Naveed Javed as enquiry officer to probe the incident of blast of CNG cylinder in a passenger van at National Highway near Matiari on 7th December, 2011, resulting in the loss of 11 lives and injuries to 12 persons.
He directed to find out the incident's causes ie outdated CNG cylinder, fitting from unauthorised dealer or use of substandard material, filling station from which the unfortunate vehicle was lastly fuelled, adequate pressure, fitness of contract carriage along-with route permit, valid driving license, evidences of eye-witnesses or passengers and the response of different departments/agencies with regard to rescue and relief. The divisional commissioner directed enquiry officer to furnish his report within five days.
Meanwhile, Additional Commissioner-I, Rafiuddin and Assistant Commissioner, Abid Saleem Qureshi visited Burn Ward, Civil Hospital Hyderabad on behalf of Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Ahmed Bux Narejo and inquired about the health of the injured in this tragic incident. They assured the victims of providing medical treatment to them on government expense and directed the doctors to provide effective medical treatment. They also assured the injured that the commissioner has ordered enquiry of the incident to take action against the responsible.
