The new plant of Engro Fertiliser Limited was shut down late Thursday night after Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) informed the company about the suspension of gas supply to the plant.
"The new fertiliser plant of our 100 percent owned subsidiary, Engro Fertiliser Limited, was shut down late last night, after SNGPL informed us that as a consequence of increase in gas consumption in the domestic sector with the advent of the winter. Therefore, in order to manage the demand and supply position, the SNGPL is discontinuing gas supply to the plant," an information sent to Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) on Friday said. The SNGPL said that it will endeavour to resume the gas supply as soon as the position improves.
