Marryam Nawaz, daughter of Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif has vowed to serve people of the country like her father and strengthening the party at grass roots level. "It took me three years to persuade my father for letting me take part in country's politics," she said while addressing a women convention at Al-Hamra Hall, here on Thursday.
Had Nawaz Sharif been allowed to complete his five years terms of Prime Minister twice, Pakistan would have become a developed country like Malaysia, Singapore and Turkey, Begum Zakia Shahnawaz, Saba Sadiq, Shaista Pervaiz BMalik, Shakeela Luqman Chaudhary and a large number of women workers were also present.
Mariam said Nawaz challenged the supporters of status quo. The economy of the country could be restored only by Nawaz, she said adding that Nawaz put the country on the road to progress by constructing Motorway, Ghazi Barotha Dam and Coastal Highway. "Musharraf claimed Nawaz will never return to the country while today Nawaz is in Pakistan and Musharraf is in exile," she said. She said the Punjab government was spending a lot of money for the welfare of the people of Punjab. She said that Pakistan Muslim League-N was the only party, which will protect the ideological and geographical borders of the country.
