Slow pace trading was evident during shortened week owing to Muharram-ul-Haram holidays. No big price change was observed. Markets are expected to warm up next week.
The first session of the week on Wednesday witnessed thin trading during which wheat old and new bardana notched up by Rs 10 to Rs 2690 and Rs 2705, Irri-6 Sindh low type gained Rs 25 to Rs 3150, while other type was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 3250. Cottonseed oilcakes Sindh with bag shed Rs 50 to Rs 800, while better type was lowered by Rs 75 to Rs 925.
On Jodia Bazaar milk powder skimmed per bag 25-kg Poland rose by Rs 700 to Rs 9000 olden burger shed Rs 1,100 to Rs 9800. Vegetable Euro Gold shed Rs 100 to Rs 9300, Mix Me rose by Rs 200 to Rs 9200 and Balie Gold shed Rs 550 to Rs 9400.
On Thursday moong Punjab rose by Rs 250 to Rs 6500 masoor Canada was quoted higher at Rs 4800 and Rs 5000. Wheat old and new bardan lost Rs 10 to Rs 2680 and Rs 2695, gram Australia I gained Rs 250 to Rs 4600 and Rs 4800, gram Australia dal I rose by Rs 200 to Rs 5600 and Rs 5000, gram 50x50 gained Rs 200 to Rs 5300 and Rs 5500, yellow peas Canada rose by Rs 100 to Rs 3850 and Rs 4050, yellow peas dal Canada up Rs 100 to Rs 4250 and Rs 4450, yellow peas Ukraine up Rs 100 to Rs 3650 and Rs 3850, yellow peas Ukraine dal rose by same amount to Rs 4150 and Rs 4350, cottonseed oilcakes Sindh with bag gained Rs 50 to Rs 850, while the other variety fell by Rs 25 to Rs 900.
On Friday there was no change in commodities prices, as almost all the participants were busy in preparations for Jumma prayers.
On Jodiar Bazaar jute goods twine ended down. The variations were: JUTE GOODS TWINE (Per kg): 3/20x3 Brown finished lower by Rs 6 to Rs 92, 16x3 CRT/Indus edged down by Rs 6 to Rs 92, 8x3 moved downward by Rs 5 to Rs 140 and 40x2 Brown went lower by Rs 5 to Rs 88. HESSIAN CLOTH (Per 91.44 meter): 45x10 Amin finished down by Rs 100 to Rs 3,100, 45x11 moved lower by Rs 100 to Rs 3,200, 50x9 Thul went downward by Rs 100 to Rs 2,900, 45x9 ended lower by Rs 100 to Rs 2,900, 50x8 Thul moved downward by Rs 50 to Rs 2,700 and 45x8 finished lower by Rs 100 to Rs 2,650.
On Saturday modest trading was seen in the absence of fresh buying interest by the leading participants. Wheat old and new both inched up by Rs 5 to Rs 2685-2700, respectively. Rapeseed Nawabshah and Mirpurlane lost Rs 100 to Rs 2475-2500, rapeseeds cake shed Rs 20 to Rs 870-880, til low type was down by Rs 50 to Rs 3200, the best type, however, gained Rs 100 to Rs 3450, cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh inferior type was higher by Rs 25 to Rs 875, and the good quality rose by Rs 70 to Rs 970. Prices on the grams and rice sectors retained the overnight levels, as supply was enough to meet the demand by retailers.
On Jodia Bazaar plastic moulding compounds ended mixed. The variations were: PLASTIC MOULDING COMPOUNDS (Per lb): HDPE (FILM): Saudia 952 finished higher by Rs 1.50 to Rs 76.50 and TR144 moved lower by 50-paisa to Rs 74.50. HDPE (INJECTION): Sabic 200056 went down by Rs 1.50 to Rs 81.00 and Iran moved downward by Rs 3 to Rs 73. HDPE (BLOW): Marlex Singapore edged lower by Re 1.00 to Rs 75. LDPE: 374 went down by Rs 2.75 to Rs 81.75, MG 20 moved lower by Rs 3.00 to Rs 90.00 and MG 70 finished downward by Rs 2.00 to Rs 90.00. LLDPE: W118 ended lower by Rs 1.25 to Rs 69.25. POLYPROPYLENE (FILM): Thai closed down by Rs 3.75 to Rs 77.25 and India moved lower by Rs 3.75 to Rs 77.25. POLYPROPYLENE (TAPE GRADE): India edged down by Rs 2.75 to Rs 75.25, Kuwait finished lower by Rs 2.75 to Rs 75.25 and Saudia went down by Rs 2.75 to Rs 75.25. POLYPROPYLENE (INJECTION GRADE): Saudia moved downward by Rs 3.00 to Rs 75.50 and India edged lower by Rs 2.25 to Rs 76.50. COPOLY: Block ended down by Rs 3.00 to Rs 81.00 and Randon was quoted at Rs 92.00.
