Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has supported the peace accords for amicable solution of Afghan issues, saying that the stable Afghanistan and Pakistan was paramount for lasting peace and calm in this part of the region.
He said that the Pakhtuns have suffered on the name of religion everywhere in the region, adding that the unity and integrity is the best way to resolve problems confronting the both side of Pakhtuns, which could be based on mutual understanding, respect and consensus.
Addressing at the two different books launching ceremony in Pashto language including "Manzil Pa Lahar" (On Path of Destination) written by ANP veteran leader, Afzal Lala in Pashto language, and Ghani Khattak renowned writer book titled "Khushal Da Nagyali Da Sardar Pa Latoon Ke", he said the Pakhtuns leaders paid huge sacrifices for soil and the movement launched them, could not be derailed very easily. A large numbers of Pashto writers, poets, researchers, and authors attended the books launching ceremony held here at Peshawar Press Club on Monday.
He called upon Pakhtuns to join hands for tackling the issues confronting them in this region. The issue should be resolved through traditional Jirga system and all nationalist forces have greater role for integration of Afghan and Pakhtuns, he maintained. Mian Iftikhar said that ANP government had in favour of negotiation with those radical militant forces, who were ready to lay down their arms and accept the writ of the government. He backed for revival of peace Jirga to settle the Afghan issues and to ease the miseries of Pakhtuns of both sides.
Addressing on the occasion, ANP veteran leader, Afzal Lala said that the Pakhtuns had lost their identity because of various reasons. He said that Pakhtuns leaders paid huge sacrifices to free them from the clutches of colonial and western powers. Afzal Lala said that the peace couldn't be restored until to giving due status to Pakhtuns. The speakers include writers, poets, and literacy figures also spoke on the occasion.
