President Pakistan Muslim League-N Nawaz Sharif has said it is the result of long dictatorships that Pakistan is facing the crises of basic needs like gas, electricity and energy and poverty and unemployment are increasing.
While addressing a meeting of Muslim League Assembly members, office-bearers and other leaders belonging to Gujranwala division here on Monday Nawaz said Muslim League-N has to play an active role for making Pakistan a dignified, independent and prosper country in real sense.
He said political parties are asset of the country and symbol of national unity and solidarity but unfortunately the dictators in Pakistan played the game of dividing political parties, occupying their offices, depriving them of their leaderships and formed the parties of their choice as a result of which not only democratic process was damaged, but national unity and solidarity were also put at stake.
He said the nation was divided due to different ideas. Had the democratic process not been hindered in 1999 and the development projects of that era continued, Pakistan would have become the tiger of Asia in real sense today. He said we have to bring that Pakistan again which the people were deprived of in October 1999. We had not only made Pakistan independent in defence, but despite restrictions imposed due to atomic explosions, the development process continued and Pakistan was included in the rank of those countries exporting wheat.
